We understand that orthodontic treatment involves an investment of both time and finances. Therefore, Dr. Hyman conducts every new patient exam himself. He feels that this is the best way to evaluate our patients, determine their treatment objectives and then balance those objectives with the best, most affordable, treatment plan.
When you first arrive at our office, you will be greeted by one of our staff members. We recommend taking a complimentary digital x-ray, which gives Dr. Hyman important information regarding your teeth and jaw. Your personal Treatment Coordinator will provide you with an introduction to our office and discuss any concerns, and goals, that you may regarding your teeth and bite.
Dr. Hyman will complete a comprehensive exam of the teeth, bite and facial structures. Following the exam, Dr. Hyman will share his findings with you. Our practice believes that this knowledge empowers the patient to make the correct choice. Should Dr. Hyman recommend treatment, he will give you an overview of your treatment options. Then, your dedicated Treatment Coordinator will discuss the financial investment specific to your case, your insurance benefits, as well as the payment options we offer. We understand that each patient’s orthodontic treatment is different and we promise to give you the personal attention you deserve.
For some young patients, the timing may not be right for Dr. Hyman to begin your orthodontic care. We will help you understand what might be recommended in the future. We will help you schedule future appointments and Dr. Hyman will monitor your growth and tooth development.
Our in-house lab allows us to begin orthodontic treatment that day. We will start by collecting complete diagnostic records.. These records consist of x-rays and photographs of the patient’s face and teeth. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan that addresses the unique needs of each patient. Diagnostic records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.
We will then schedule your initial appointment to have your braces placed or deliver your first set of Invisalign trays! We ask that you set 1 to 2 hours aside for this appointment. After your braces are placed or Invisalign trays are delivered you will be scheduled for routine visits every 6 to 8 weeks where we will adjust your appliances, evaluate your oral hygiene and monitor your progress.Invisalign patients may be seen every 8-12 weeks, depending on Dr. Hyman;s recommendation.
